This is CRAZY!!! This was only a few years ago.
I LOVE ODB's "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" ... it's one of my favorite songs of all time (I know sad...but true....it's sooo funny)
I was trying to find the actual video but I could only find the remix...but this video does him lots of justice so Enjoy!
Post-Script - Still 'till this day...I can not get the words to this song right...

MontclairFest.
Now...let's talk about Saturday night. Soo...Saturday was MontclairFest here at my school. The concert was really good. I liked every artist in it.
Honesty Eyes
Thursday
Method Man
Bobby Valentino
Honesty Eyes opened up the show. Really cool banderent and abstract...very diff...I loved the lead singer's sweater too btw lol. Thursday was awesome!!! My little sister Kathy would've definitely enjoyed them. I went crowd surfing for the first time ever!!! I did it like 3 times! AND I was in a moshpit (for a bit) how cool is that?!
Bobby Bobby Bobby...let's make this clear...I ALWAYS loved Bobby's music, but NEVER did I find him as attractive as I did the day of the concert. Dude had some nicely creased jeans, polo boxers...AND a polo white tee...not a regular white tee but A POLO WHITE TEE!!! He is fly! I wanted his sunglasses too! I'm mad he didn't give me them lol...BUT I am soooo happy that he handed me a rose! =] LOVE HIM
Method Man...I NEVERRRRRR knew so many "white" people loved him. Honestly...almost every white person by me knew the words to all of his songs. That's awesome. Oh God...and this kid rolled one for him too...AND he smoked it (too funny). The cool part was that after a while...I was able to go with the staff and was exactly under Method Man and his hype man. So close...I was literally under his penis. lol
But ugghhh...the worst part was when Method Man frickin stepped on my hand...it's now swollen and hurts soooo bad. =[ ... but whatever...stuff happens.
I also have videos...so stay tuned for those. =]
CROWD SURFING! =]

This weekend was FULL of activities!
------------------------------------
Thursday - Paul Robeson Banquet 2008
--> This banquet was held by OSAU (Organization of Students for African Unity) to present their awards for the year. The banquet was also held in a boat. One thing about me is that I HATE being in situations that can lead me to drowning (LMAO). Thus, being in a boat scared me a bit but while I was in there...everything was fine. The view was so beautiful from inside the boat and it was sooo funny seeing everyone go back and forth left and right while dancing because there were times when the boat moved. me
--> Also present at the banquet was the friend who I mentioned before who is not speaking to me, but is friends again with my friends. That started off a little awkward because I didn't know what was going to happen because last week my friends decided to sit with her and not all together with the rest of my friends. So there was a little seperation there. At first it didn't bother me, but it made me think "Are they going to be that same way at the banquet?" But it was all fine...I guess. At one point, I remember everyone who >had something against her< were dancing with her leaving me and one of my friends to the dust, which made me feel out of the loop...BUT...that feeling was for a second because things like that don't faze me for that long. I came there to have fun...without the drama. =]
Here are some pictures from the event:

Friday---Party in the city
--> We wanted to get there early so we wouldn't have to pay, but of course we made it a bit late. My friend kept walking and didn't pay and so did I. At first, I didn't realize I was supposed to stop and pay bc I thought maybe since we were only a bit late that they were still letting us in for free, but then when I realized what i did...it was too late.
The part started off shaky...it was a whole bunch of NY people standing on the wall. That was SOOOO annoying to me bc my thing is: if you're at a party...then DANCE! you can stay at home and stand on a wall...ALSO...if you PAID...you BETTER dance...bc then that;s just a waste of money! So...I got up and danced in the middle of the floor...I did not care how crazy I looked...I couldn't just sit and be bored. But man...later on when the NJ people got in...the party was GREAT! SO much dancing...and lots of interesting stories (lol). The party seemed like it lasted forever too. >It ended at 4 AM<. AND I had to work a 4 to 6 AM shift at school too...so I was late bc we got lost coming back and did not go to sleep until 6 AM...to have to wake up at 11 the next morning... = no sleep for me!

Zodiacs.
Zodiacs and Zodiac Signs. Do you believe in them? Are you amused by them? Do you believe they are false? Or do you simply not care for them?
I, for one, am interested in zodiacs and zodiac signs. I like being able to compare my personal traits to those listed underneath my zodiac sign. I admit, sometimes they're not always right, but they are still amusing to read. Also, I believe that a person sometimes picks up the traits of those around them. For example, I am an Aquarius (born January 22), but almost everyone in my household are Leos. When I read some of the personality traits of Leos, I feel like mine compare to some which is funny because according to Astronomers...Leo and Aquarius are polar opposites.
Overall, I think that I am definitely an Aquarius. My birthday is two days after the zodiac sign changes also, but when I read the traits of Capricorn women...it does not compare.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I found this today during my "daily Googling." It's pretty interesting. I would have to say that most of it is actually on point.(I highlighted what I believe to be true.)
WHAT ATTRACTS AN AQUARIUS WOMAN
The type of man who attracts you is intellectually interesting, logical, open-minded, and willing to experiment. A man with ideas and insights fascinates you.
You're even more attracted if he seems unconventional or unpredictable or just "unusual". Idealists, individualists, and rebels intrigue you - even ones who would shock your parents or friends.
Political types may also appeal to you, especially the "reformers" and "crusaders" and defenders of the down-trodden.
You can be aroused more by curiosity than by sexual signals alone, so an interesting man who is a little aloof (or even eccentric) intrigues and attracts you.
Originality gets your attention, and unpredictability keeps you interested. Boring and dull people lose your interest quickly; and the closed-minded and rigid types lose your respect.
If you have Mars in Aquarius, you may be especially attracted to the "rebels" or active "movers-and-shakers". You can be aroused by the idea of "experimenting" with new and different sexual styles; and may try the taboo merely out of curiosity, not kinkiness.

Anxiety.
Today I almost had an anxiety attack.
This has been the WORST semester in my life! It seems as though everyone is against me...and I'm just scared that it's all going to come back to haunt me later on =(.
I have to get my life all together somehow because I seriously feel like I'm at the verge of an anxiety attack.

Usher.
This is a preview of Usher's "Make Love in this Club."
I don't know if it's just me, but Usher...I don't know...he's just not doing it for me anymore. I remember...I was IN LOVE with this guy! Ever since I was a tidbit girl and saw the "Think of You" video...I was hooked! I know I have a new celebrity crush every week (lol)...but Usher...he was constantly on my agenda! (LOL) But now...something is different...and not in a good way. Of course...the song is a hit, but it's just not the same. I guess it's not the fact that he's married now, but the way he appears as a married man. It's like I don't feel the same I did towards him as I did before the marriage. I guess that's what I'm getting around lol.
But anywho...he will still be my hubby =]...with or without that old lady he calls a wife (oops!).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THIS is the Usher I LOVED:

NOW look at HIM!:

She's bringing him down or something because now he's starting to look as old as her! And I KNOW Usher is not one to age fast...like my friend Alisa says, "Black DON'T Crack!"
Well, I'm out of here! Have a great weekend! =]
Post-script: Keri Hilson is also in the video...GREAT CHOICE! She is amazing!

Boring Day.
Today was pretty boring (lol).
All I did was work, go to HRLDA meeting (Leadership/Community Service Org), straighten Alyssa's <3 hair, and relax in my room.
There's a party at Rutgers University going on right now. Me and Alyssa decided not to go, but our friend is there and he says that the party is really good (kind of wish I would've went now).
But I guess it's all right because I have to wake up early tomorrow to do Registration for Freshman Welcome here at Montclair.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, today Alyssa and I were waiting on line to buy her Paul Robeson ticket and we saw my two "friends" there. I said "hi" to them, and one of thm was hesitant, but she said "hi" back...and the other one didn't say a word. She is the one that thinks I was talking about her to my other friend. So I figure she is not speaking to me anymore. At first, I really stressed about it because I was not talking bad about her to my other friend and really care about our friendship, but now, I just don't sweat it. I KNOW what I said that night, and if she doesn't want to continue to speak to me...fine with me...I will still continue to say "hi" to her regardless because I have no reason to stop talking to her. That's just not me.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last night, CNN aired their first installment of their documentary, "Black in America." I enjoyed it...but MAN it was long lol! Very educational and eye-opening nonetheless.
Today marks the 40th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination.

Butterflies.
Every morning I like to listen to music as I get ready for the day. Yesterday morning, I had my ITunes on shuffle and this song popped up. I have never noticed how much I could relate to this song right now. It sums up ALMOST everything that is going on with me at the moment. He "gives me butterflies." =]
**My Philosophy professor thinks that I plagiarized in my last paper. Now, I have to give him a copy of my outside sources so he can compare the information. I am so scared! I didn't plagiarize...I mean...I didn't do it intentionally. ::Exhales:: This is horrible...college is no joke. Wish me luck...I hope that if he does conclude that I plagiarized...that he just gives me a 0 for the paper instead of an F for the class...or even worst...get suspended from the university! =(...Man, I can not wait until school is over!

Sunshine.

It is FINALLY sunny out! I thought I would never see sunshine after all the rain that has been pouring these past few days. (Messing up my hair and all! lol)
I love (almost) everything about the summer!! I can't wait! I love the weather (besides the humidity bc of my hair), the clothes (tank tops, sandals, love it), being able to hang out with all of my friends, NO SCHOOL! ...the only thing that sucks is that i won't be able to see my *crush as often >>> hopefully I'll be over that by then...or who knows? ...maybe a certain dream of mine will be brought to life =]
Well...there's not much to write about. Actually, there is...but I'm not sure if I feel like writing about it...right now lol. But I can say this... +1 I truly think I'm a little stalker-ish ... it's creepy bc I hate when people are on my back...but here I am...doing exactly that! (tisk tisk tisk) +2 My friends have finally patched there situation which i'm very happy about! i'm glad to see them getting along again...the seperation was killing me! BUT I don't even know what's going on with me and one of them bc we still haven't spoken or resolved what I mentioned in one of my previous posts (we've been dodging each other...I know...it's sad).
Well...that is all for now! =] God bless.
Post-script: I hope you are all listening to my radio show. Me and DJ Reese..."The Come Up Show" Monday nights...7 to 10 PM at 90.3 if you're around the Montclair area...if not...live365.com >> 90.3 wmsc =]

April 4.
Friday marks the 40th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. --A man who had a vision; to unite Americans as a whole discarding the factor of race.

Post-script: CNN is also running a documentary series, "Black in America," beginning April 3 (Thursday) at 9:00 PM. The first installment will appear with "Eyewitness to Murder: The King Assassination." --So don't miss it!
