It's difficult finding that ONE GUY...

...the ONE who not only catches the eye, but catches the mind, and heart.

When you are someone like me...who could never seem to find a guy who can catch all three of these things...when you do, it totally ruins your whole flow in life. Suddenly, your FOCUS shifts. Suddenly, you go against all of your advice. Suddenly, you feel like Sh--.

You worry about everything you say or do when he is around because you do NOT want to jeopardize any chance of ANYTHING that you may have with him. Your morals, your values, all go out the window if it does not coincide with his. Every guy that comes in your life, has NO chance! The man could be the ONE God has made FOR YOU, BUTTT you will never go about it because all you think of is HIM!!

I know you're probably thinking, "well, isn't he the ONE?" My answer to this is: "I don't know, but what i DO know, is that if he was the ONE, you would NOT have to LOSE all of who makes you, for him...resulting in little to NO GAIN..."

I have fallen as a victim to this other world...the world I preach against to all my girlfriends on a daily basis. All of the "Let him go! He's a loser and requires too much energy" or the "If you put as much energy and time into YOUR life as you do in making him happy...you would be OPRAH type successful!"

I am sorry to say it, but I am a walking contradiction. I rather lie in bed all day and drown in my pathetic sorrows. I rather NOT eat because the thoughts of you and the stress it brings replaces any type of appetite I may have. I rather sacrifice my friends, family, and most importantly, ME TIME, just so I can focus on YOU! I rather DENY the path GOD has created FOR ME, just so I can ACCEPT YOU! I rather put my dreams and aspirations on PAUSE just so I can do all of these things-> sleep, eat, and engage in YOU!

I feel so pathetic about it....

Hmm...so...what should this entry be about?

Oh! I know. How about the urban tabloid's favorites women (used loosely in some cases)!

Each day, more and more "regular" women (loosely) are rising up into the public eye. They become household names and "idols," and for what? Do they sing? No. Do they act? No. Do they dance? Well, it depends what kind of dance we're speaking of. But let's say, No. So with that said, why are their pictures being heavily sought after by the press? It is a question, with an array of answers.

Examples of these "celebrities:"

-Kim Kardashian (well now we can count Koutney and Khloe)
-The Hilton Sisters

and just recently,

-Amber Rose!

What talents do these girls possess?

Is having money considered a "talent" nowadays?

Well, in the case of Amber Rose, is being bald with an incredible physique considered a "talent?"

It must be, in this generation, because they are featured in almost every "celebrity" sight with actors, singers, athletes, and so on.

Let's focus on Amber Rose for a second. Recently, she attended the MTV Awards with Kanye West (the one we can say is responsible for her rise to fame). We all saw what Kanye did during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech. Some of us thought it was wrong, some of us didn't see anything wrong with it. Whatever the case may be, does Amber Rose have the "right" to express her views on the matter? Would that be considered "biting the finger of the one who feeds you?" We can all agree that if it was not for Kanye, she probably would not be a "celebrity" at this moment, right? As far as I know, she hasn't spoken on the incident, well, I have never heard the girl speak at all, like ever.

I really do wonder though. Are we supposed to let our partner do as he pleases, even if it may embarrass us, just because he's the breadwinner and the reason behind our success?

Whether you hated or loved Michael, you can NOT deny his music!

Since I was a little girl, I have known of the KING OF POP! I laughed with him, danced with him (in my head), and I have cried with him.

Today, I couldn't get up from bed. I thought this was all a dream, but I was mistaken. I felt numb, but I managed to get up from bed and get ready for my busy day. I just felt like this was the most surreal thing that could occur in my life. What? Michael Jackson gone? You have to be lying! There's no way! I was JUST talking about him!

I was so distraught by the news. I couldn't hear radio, I couldn't watch tv, I couldn't go out, I was paralyzed.

But this morning, I decided to turn on the radio and I was somewhat fine, just a little numb, but then they played "I CAN'T HELP IT "

(Marsha Ambrosius from Floetry made me cry as well)!!! One of my favorites! And I just broke out! I was forcing myself not to cry, but that song triggered back so many memories. I remember having a Michael Jackson and Prince CASSETTE TAPE!!! I used to play this tape in my kitchen boombox and just JAM like I was on stage with the greats!

But Something really dawned on me today. Michael had such a tough and saddening life. Yes he was a megastar and everyone (for the most part) loved him...because Michael was not only an entertainer, a singer, a dancer...Michael was MUSIC! BUT, internally, Michael was not the happy and you can tell when you listen to songs like "Have You Seen My Childhood?"

... where he showed us that HE KNEW we thought he was strange and didn't understand his eccentric behavior, but that was because he had NO childhood. This is something small that we take for granted. All Michael KNEW was being a performer. He never really got to enjoy the simplicities of being able to just walk down the street like we do. And this hurt him. You can tell, when you would watch him in documentaries. My heart went out to him, and NOT ONCE did I speak negative of him. Dead or alive.

Poor Michael.

50 years is not a long time, but today I realized that my ALMIGHTY GOD knew what he was doing. Michael served his purpose on earth, he brought us MUSIC THAT TRANSCENDS THROUGH TIME AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. My kids WILL KNOW who Michael Jackson was to the music world. And now, although I am still hurt, I can now rejoice! Michael Jackson can FINALLY have the rest he deserves, in the heavens. And I don't know about you but I heard that Heaven in Neverland times INFINTY! So I can bet he is in a better place!

Michael is not dead he is STILL ALIVE in our hearts! His MUSIC WILL NEVER DIE.

PS- It seems like people seem to always forget that Michael cared for the world when no one else did. He has endless songs written in regards the world's injustices.

(Aaliyah's death anniversary is coming up soon too (Aug 25), I NEVER feel like myself on the day! She was my idol growing up, and when she died, I truly lost a part of me. Weird to explain, but I did. I was so indenial about her death, that it didn't dawn to me until a year after!)

Precious Movie, Precious Man.

"Precious," Tyler Perry's new project, set to hit theatres during the Fall, has been making some buzz lately.

I remember watching this trailer during the previews for "Obsessed" and I fell in love with it. It is based off the book, "Push," which is a book about an abused teen from Harlem and her struggles. The subject of abuse, whether it be mental or physical, is universal and I feel very strong about this movie. Familiar names such as Paula Patton (Robin Thicke's beautiful wife), Lenny Kravitz (my man), Mariah Carey (yes, I said Mariah Carey and she is NOT singing), and Mo'Nique (groundbreaking role for her) are in this film. Please check out the trailer below, if you have not already done so.

Oprah is backing it up, and YOU KNOW if Oprah's money is behind it, then IT IS GOOD!

Well, since EVERYONE is has something to say about the currently leaked nude photos of Rihanna and Cassie, I guess I should put my two cents in.

This is the way I see it.

Rihanna and Cassie are HUMAN people! They make mistakes just like you and I. It just sucks because their mistakes are constantly on display as opposed to our private humiliations.

We, as humans, should have the right to take butt naked pictures if we so damn well please! BUTTTTTT (there is always a but) I feel that Rihanna and Cassie were well aware that they have young female fans who emulate them. They are role models. <--Whether they choose to be or not. Little girls can look at these photos and think that it is ok to show your goodies for the world to see. IT IS NOT OK for a young girl to think that! We SHOULD be teaching them to respect and value their bodies.

Whatever someone chooses to do in their private time is fine, but precautions have to be taken, ESPECIALLY when you are constantly in the public eye.

I can tell you this, Rihanna had, for the most part, a lot of supporters through the whole incident with Chris Brown, but now that these pictures were leaked...she can definitely kiss some of those supporters buh-bye!

See, I judge an artist by their music, not who they are outside of that world...but not everyone is like that. Look at how many fans R. Kelly loss after his scandal!

Now for Cassie, this may actually boost her sales. AND THAT IS WHY people are speculating that she had some part in the leaking of her photos. I don't know.


FINAL WORDS:
-Take all the naked photos you want but PLEASE be aware of the repercussions. I know those pictures were meant to be PRIVATE, but come on, what celebrity takes naked photos or videos and doesn't have them leaked??? ...uhm yea, not one.
-I wanted to get an area of my body, which I will not further discuss, pierced...but I'm not sure if I want to anymore because of this whole thing. Who knows though, may still happen...I'm just saying lol.

It seems as though EVERYONE is on Keri Hilson (it's either Keri or Drake) nowadays, and being the person I am, I hate following the crowd...BUT...from what I've seen and heard...Keri seems like she's humbled by her success and although I am not THRILLED with her album, I commend its success and I know that it's been a long time coming for Ms. Hilson.

With that said, the song "Alienated" on her album, "In a Perfect World" (it's a cd you would want to listen to while driving your whip, so to them car owners, pick up this album) really defines how I feel at this point with a certain situation I am in with a certain someone. Enjoy =]

I am SOOOO happy he decided to make this song his next single. It was always on my top 2 favorite tracks on the album.

This video is insane. It's crazy how the smallest detail can make such a major impact; like the screen thumping in the middle of the video, how it syncs with the heart thump in the song, or the constant diteriating in the video.

Post-Script: Doesn't it feel like there will probably be an alternative video to this song?

Today is Valentine's Day and I am in school...doing laundry.

...but I'm not mad at that.

I have never had a real Valentine before, and I'm not mad at that.

I love Valentine's Day: the idea of it, the love in the air, even the lack there of.


...but you know what they say, love is contagious and now that it's evidently surrounding me, I can't help but want a piece of it for myself.

I want to be loved. I want someone who gives me butterflies in my stomach every time I see them. I want someone who leaves me thinking about them every morning and every night. So...I was thinking, okai I know Halloween is months and months away, BUT I'm thinking about being Vanity from Vanity 6 for Halloween. Tell me it's not genius! I know I know, people will probably not know who I am off the bat unless they're familiar with Vanity 6, but who cares! It's perfect! lol Now, I can pay homage to the baddest that's ever done, Prince, The Artist if you're nasty, AND sing "Nasty Girl" all day long HA! I'm so excited, really I am. Beyonce had to be thinking of Vanity when she recorded "Diva," because Vanity is BAD --- to the bone marrow...I had to say it lol.

Post-Script: Don't get me wrong, I like Apollonia too, but honestly, I think I look a little more like Vanity, and "Nasty Girl" has been one of my ringtones for years, thus, Vanity it shall be.

Here's "Nasty Girl," please enjoy it for now before Prince gets the sound removed off the video. Prince does not play games with his royalty money, and I don't blame him either. lol

Letter from One to Another...

I don't know what's wrong with me. I find myself thinking about you every morning, every night, everything afternoon; at all times. Envisioning how your lips curl when you smile, the way your eyes sparkle at night, how soft your hands are, feeling up your arms, thinking 'damn your fine.' It's like you've put a hex on me, with only one cure, one solution, one remedy. And the remedy is you. You are the only one who can have me. Not a piece of me, but all of me. But you don't want it. You don't want to claim your prize. You rather forfeit than be mine.

The crazy thing is that I never been this girl. I never been the one to let herself go this route. I like to taste all of the fruits of this world, see all of its colors, hear all of its sounds. And for me to finally land at one place, one fruit, one color, one sound, and most importantly, one face. Well, I thought I would never see the day.

You are not perfect. And I accepted that. For the first time, I accepted you not aesthetically, but as a real man. Flaws and all, I let you in to my space, my dome, my home, my place. Now, that I have opened that door for you, how do you expect me to allow it to close and start off new? I just don't know where to go. Because my belongings are still at that space, that place, that dome, that home.

Funny, how the tables have turned. Primarily, I was in control, not in the the passenger's seat. Now you're driving this vehicle, you're in control, you're the predator and I'm your prey, easily devoured every time a thought of you plays. Replays through my head over and over like a broken record dying to be remade.

I ask myself, is this love? No. I can't be, we haven't even gotten to that point. It's more of a comfortability* that's made me so damn.....lazy!

But with each crack you've created on the shell I hid under, you've reached me deeper than anyone else, but also hurt me deeper than anyone else. And with that said, this has to be farewell.

You asked why I would never "hit you up" at first, well this is exactly why. You played my feelings and soul as if it were a toy. But you're not a child anymore. how could you toy me around and not have any kind of remorse?

I'm not blind anymore, you're far from the man I need to be with. So forget about me texting you and calling you, instead, why don't you "hit me up" because I'm going back to the old chick...I'm going back to me. Back to my dome, my home, my place, and most importantly, my face.
